Australian allrounder Shane Watson continues to warm up for the Twenty20 World Cup in style, smashing 40 runs off 28 balls for Islamabad in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Thursday night.

Watson hit three fours and three sixes in his team's seven-wicket loss to Quetta, backing up from the 79 he struck off 47 balls against Lahore on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old earned selection in Australia's squad for the World Cup after hitting his maiden international T20 century against India at the SCG last month.

He has hit all his recent runs opening the batting, where he is being touted as a possible replacement for Aaron Finch, who was dumped as captain, but remains in the squad for the tournament.
