A photo showing police officers in mock grief after responding to a fire that destroyed a doughnut truck in the US has prompted a hilarious reaction on social media.

Lexington Police, in Kentucky, responded to a Krispy Kreme truck that caught fire on 31 December.

All the doughnuts were lost in the blaze.

After responding to the fire, officers posted photos of themselves in apparent grief with the caption "No words".

The photos prompted other police forces across the US to offer support.
Not to be outdone by their US cousins, South Australian police also waded in with the case of the missing Tim Tams.
No one was hurt during the fire, which destroyed the truck.
