The family of Melbourne teen Laa Chol, who was killed during an alleged altercation, have begged for their privacy as they lay her to rest.

Ms Chol, 19, from Pakenham in Melbourne's south-east, died after she suffered serious injuries at the EQ Tower in Melbourne's CBD last month.

A family representative Yohannes Mojwok, released a statement to NITV, requesting privacy ahead of the teen's funeral:

Miss Laa Daniel Chol was a loved and precious member of our family.

We have lost a beautiful young woman, who loved her family and was an active member of her community. We will continue to miss Laa and the joy she brought to all our lives.

Since this tragedy the family of Mr Daniel Chol, Laa’s father, choose to mourn in private. We will be laying Laa to rest soon.
