The police department in Cobb County, Georgia, are considering action after one of its officers was caught telling a driver "we only kill black people".
Cobb County police officer Greg Abbott stopped a woman on the side of the road for a random breath test and made the comments after the woman hesitated to move her hands down to pick up her mobile phone.
“It’s in your lap right there,” Mr Abbott said on the recording.
The driver said she did not want to move her hands as she has "seen way too many videos of cops".

“But you’re not black,” Mr Abbott replied.
“Remember, we only kill black people. Yeah. We only kill black people, right?”
Police Chief Mike Register said the comments should not have been made under any circumstance.
“No matter what context it was said, it shouldn’t have been said,” he told Channel 2 Action News.
In a statement, Mr Abbott's attorney Lance LoRusso said the comments were made to "de-escalate a situation" and had to be observed in their "totality" to understand the context.
He also said his client was co-operating with the department in the internal investigation.
