Karrie Webb hasn't felt this "nervous excited" for a while.

The golfing great enters Sunday's final round of the Women's Australian Open in Adelaide just one shot behind the leaders.

"It has been quite a while since I gave myself a chance to win on Sunday - and a legitimate chance," Webb said.

The Queenslander last triumphed on the LPGA Tour in March 2014, a month after she won her fifth Australian Open.

She's relishing the prospect of a sixth national crown after posting another solid two-under round at The Grange on Saturday.

Webb is eight-under for the tournament, one shy of American Danielle Kang, South Korean Jenny Shin and Japan's Haru Nomura.

Also eight-under is world No.1 and defending champion Lydia Ko.

Webb has 57 professional wins, 41 of them on the elite LPGA, but realises her name near the top of the leaderboard won't strike fear into opponents the way it once did.

"But I think most people respect the fact that I know how to win," Webb said.

"And that if I'm up there with a few holes, I probably might have a good crack at it."

The 41-year-old rated her striking with the irons as the best it's been "for quite some time".

"If I put a ball-striking round together like I did today, I just have to make some putts and I will have a really good shot," she said.

And she has home-crowd advantage in a cosmopolitan tournament where the top nine golfers are from eight countries.

Californian Kang was Saturday's big mover, carding a five-under 67 - no one shot lower.

"Today everything felt really solid," the 23-year-old said.

"I have been playing pretty good this week. I have been hitting every green or making really good up-and-downs."

Australia's Minjee Lee also shot a five-under to revive her chances after a horror 76 on Friday. She's now four-under for the event.

"Yesterday was just a really bad day, so it's nice to have a better round," Lee said.

"I was a lot more nervous (yesterday) ... probably because there were more eyes (on me). I wasn't hitting it well and I got a little bit embarrassed and then I got even more nervous."
