Website set up for disability commission

The Department of Social Services has set up a website to promote a new royal commission into the disability sector - which has not yet been announced.

There's no terms of reference or commissioners yet, but a proposed new royal commission has a website.

The federal Department of Social Services on Monday set up a page on its "engage" site, with the heading "Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability".

It was expected the terms of reference were to be released on Monday, but no announcement has been made.

The site was later taken down and showed a "page not found" error message.

The prime minister's office said consultation on the terms of reference was still under way.
