As the weekend approaches, a host of arts and cultural events are set to hit off across the country.
In Brisbane the inaugural Clancestry cultural festival will feature a program of events at the Queensland performing Arts Centre
Bundjalung Arts Programmer, Rhoda Roberts is the inaugural Artistic director and excited to celebrate what Australia is about.
''We believe truly believe that through our artists and the many platforms we're going to offer it's really a time to immerse yourself with very ancient rituals through to the contemporary.'' said Roberts.

The weekend also marks the Centenary of the ACT's Enlighten Festival includes a performance of Kungkarngkalpa or the 7 sisters with women of the central Desert.
''There's 7 dancers playing the sisters and the spirit pursuing and 8 singers singing their songs at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.'' said director Wesley Enoch.
Adelaide is also set to shine with the Kurruru Youth Performing arts centre hosting Blak Nite featuring young emerging talents like the experimental band MISM.
Nunga writer Dylan Coleman has been shortlisted for the Stella Writers for her book "Mazin Grace". It's one of 12 writen by Australian women in the running for the $20,000 prize.
Today also marks a pecial day for NAISDA teacher Raymond Blanco who was announced as Artistic Director of the globally renowned Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival far north of Queensland. He's very excited about it as this year the festival celebrates it's 20th anniversary.
''I'm actually now talking to you from Laura, Uncle Tommy George and going into another one with elders and it's promising to be a really exciting festival.'' said Blanco.
