Melbourne's Christian Welch and South Sydney's Damien Cook have escaped suspension despite being charged by the NRL match review committee.

Welch was hit with a dangerous contact charge for his tackle on South Sydney's John Sutton in Saturday night's golden point win.

However he will be free to play next weekend with an early guilty plea. As will Rabbitohs rake Cook, who was charged with a dangerous throw on Storm fullback Cameron Munster in the same game.
