The standards follow footage of animals being treated inhumanely at slaughter houses in Indonesia on ABC television last June, but new footage has shown cattle still being mistreated at four Indonesian slaughterhouses, two of which were approved under the government's welfare system.
Meanwhile, Australian Greens animal welfare spokeswoman Lee Rhiannon says the government's attempt to clean up the live exports trade has failed.
