Australia are hoping to land the killer blow and retain the Ashes when they host England in the first-ever women's day-night cricket Test this week in Sydney.
Star all-rounder Ellyse Perry admits the chance to put England away in a unique three-format series with victory over the old enemy at North Sydney Oval is the driving motivation heading into Thursday.
The Australians took one-day honours 2-1 and can clinch the urn with success this week - or face the prospect of needing to win the three-match T20 component to retain the Ashes.
The match pits world champions England against top-ranked Australia and Perry says playing in Test conditions remains the pinnacle of women's cricket.
"Personally as a player - and I probably speak for most of the girls in the team - it's the most exciting match on the calendar," Perry said.
"And it's only every couple of years that we play a game so it's a really special feeling to put a baggy green on and represent your country.
"But what I think has been really wonderful about this new format of the Ashes has been how much of the emphasis and importance is placed on every format of the game.
"I think that's really relevant to women's cricket with how much limited-overs cricket that we play."
Youngster Amanda-Jade Wellington has unseated the experienced Kristen Beams as Australia's preferred leg-spinner for pink-ball Test.
The hosts have cut Beams and fast bowler Belinda Vakarewa to reduce their squad to 13 for the historic encounter.
A mainstay for the past few years, Beams played the second of three one-day matches against England last month, taking 2-38 after being picked to replace concussed off-spinner Ashleigh Gardner.
The 33-year-old led Australia for wickets at this year's World Cup and played the last Ashes Test in 2015.
But she has fallen out of favour, opening the door for Wellington despite the 20-year-old taking just one wicket from three ODIs against England.
National selector Shawn Flegler said the focus was placed on boosting the side's capability to take 20 wickets to ensure a result.
That's despite neither Wellington nor Gardner having played Test cricket.
The match precedes three Twenty20 matches from November 17.
