Australia says it's still awaiting Iraqi government approval for its Super Hornet planes to join US-led coalition forces in combat operations against Islamic State militants in Iraq.
Iraqi Ambassador in Canberra, Mouayed Saleh, says he's unaware of any major obstacles to that taking place - and the Australian planes could be taking part in bombings over Iraq as soon as this weekend.
Neil James from the Australia Defence Association says legal complications to the mission would currently be under negotiation, such as the rules of engagement.
Darren Mara began by asking him what an Australian combat mission in Iraq would likely involve.
