What do you think about the flood levy?

The government's proposed flood recovery funding plan includes a $1.8 billion levy for all taxpayers who earn more than $50,000 and weren't affected by the floods. Under the plan, those who earn $60,000 per year would pay just under $1 per week for 2011-12 financial year, and those who earn $100,000 would pay just under $5. However there are concerns the levy will mean people stop donating, or that it will hit taxpayers too hard due to the higher cost of produce from crucial agricultural regions affected by floods.
