What is known so far about London attack

The latest information on the terror attack at Westminster in the middle of London that has left four dead dead.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ON LONDON ATTACK

* Four people have died - a police officer, the attacker, a woman in her mid 40s and a man in his mid 50s

* An Australian permanent resident named by News Corp as Trish Neis-Beer, a German national who lives and works in the Adelaide Hills, was among those injured in the attack.

* The police officer killed was PC Keith Palmer, a 48-year-old husband and father with 15 years of police service.

* Seven people have been arrested and six addresses raided across London, Birmingham and elsewhere in the UK

* The woman was killed on Westminster Bridge as a number of pedestrians were mowed down by a grey Hyundai i40

* Seven people are in a critical condition, and 29 have been treated in hospital

* One woman ended up in the Thames and was treated for serious injuries after being pulled from the water

* The attacker ran down numerous pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, injuring at least 40, some "catastrophically"

* The attacker then ran through gates of Palace of Westminster and stabbed the officer

* He was then shot dead by police

* Parliament was sitting at the time and was put into lockdown

* Prime Minister Theresa May has chaired a meeting of the government's emergency Cobra committee to discuss the immediate response to the incident

* The Queen has cancelled postponed plans to open the new Scotland Yard headquarters in London

"We will all move forward together, never giving in to terror and never allowing the voices of hate and evil to drive us apart" - May statement.
