Colleagues have remembered the glamorous former hostess of television game show Wheel of Fortune Adriana Xenides as a class act following the 54-year-old's death yesterday after reportedly suffering a ruptured intestine.
The former model and television celebrity was born in Argentina and grew up in Adelaide and first appeared on the TV game show in 1981 aged 22.
Seven's Director of Programming and Production Tim Worner says Xenides was her bubbly self with the contestant's audience members and crew and her many friends at the network will miss her.
Her 18-year run on the show is still an Australian record and she didn't miss an episode until November 1996 when she fell ill with a recurring stomach virus.
Xenides went public with her illness in a television interview in 2007saying the digestive disorder almost claimed her life when she suffered haemorrhaging.
