Whitehead facing NRL tripping ban

Canberra second-rower Elliott Whitehead is set to spend a week on the NRL sidelines after being charged with tripping.

Canberra second-rower Elliott Whitehead is set to miss his side's NRL clash with Parramatta after being charged with tripping.

The Raiders' English hardman was hit with a grade two charge by the match review committee after bringing down Alex Glenn in Brisbane's nail-biting 13-12 win on Friday night.

Whitehead will only miss a week with an early guilty plea but will be out for two matches if he takes his case to the judiciary and loses.
