When farmer Peter Spencer, embarked on his hunger strike earlier this year he struck a chord amongst many others.

For more than 50 days, his Tower of Hope became a symbol of an ongoing fight between food producers and all levels of government.

For conservationists, property laws are critical in maintaining the environment..

But for many farmers they go too far.
