Canberra's Jack Wighton is set to miss his side's NRL clash with Brisbane after being charged with touching touch judge Brett Suttor.

His starring display in the Raiders' 30-18 home win over Manly was soured after he was charged on Saturday by the match review committee with contrary conduct - contact with a match official.

Even with an early guilty plea, Wighton will miss a week and his only hope of running out against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday will be if the club decides to take the case to the judiciary.

He would have been free to play had it not been for the 20 per cent loading he incurred for a prior, unrelated offence.

Wighton was charged for a 37th-minute incident in which he remonstrated with Suttor after Jarrod Croker was taken into touch.

The Raiders' fullback was superb against the Sea Eagles on Friday night at GIO Stadium, scoring one try, setting up another two and coming up with a brilliant try-saver on Tom Trbojevic.

His teammate Shannon Boyd is also set to miss out against the Broncos after being charged with a shoulder charge on Sea Eagles prop Jake Trbojevic.

The Canberra front-rower will miss one game with an early guilty plea and two if he unsuccessfully fights the charge.
