Wikileaks Party defends meeting with Syrian president

The WikiLeaks Party has defended meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, saying it was part of a fact finding mission aimed at showing solidarity with the Syrian people.

The party has been criticised by the federal government for potentially risking involving Australia in the Syrian conflict.

Member of the national council of the WikiLeaks Party Jamal Daoud has told Murray Silby the delegation spoke to a broad range of people in Syria, including a meeting with Mr Assad on December 23.
