Wild Rivers plan upsets indigenous groups

A Labor pitch for green votes in the Queensland state election campaign has upset Aboriginal groups in Cape York, who say it limits their economic opportunities.

Labor has promised to place five more river systems under the controversial Wild River environmental protection laws.

The opposition Liberal National Party says it will revoke parts of the legislation allowing development, including mining.
