The Perth Wildcats may get some reprieve from their shocking run of injury, with guard Jarrod Kenny fighting to prove his fitness before Thursday night's game against Sydney.Kenny has missed the Cats past three games with a groin injury sustained early in the Cats round three win over Melbourne. He still needs to train strongly on Tuesday and Wednesday if he wants to suit up at Perth Arena against the Kings. But even if Kenny does play, he will be on limited minutes.Perth will be keen not to lose two consecutive home games after they lost 87-86 to New Zealand in overtime on Sunday."Hopefully (Kenny's) good. We obviously need another point guard," Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson said."I have big respect for (Corban) and he's doing a great job. We're down two point guards (Kenny and captain Damian Martin) and ask a development player to come in and start, run the team, play down the stretch and defend against some of the best players in the league."It's a big ask and he's doing a great job."We just need a few guys to step up and help."Gleeson said that with Casey Prather off the court for the overtime period against the Breakers on Sunday (with five fouls) and Martin sidelined with a knee injury, the Cats lacked leadership from senior players at times."We rely on Damo (Martin) to get us going sometimes," Gleeson said. "I felt we were sitting back and being passive (against the Breakers). If we're gonna do any damage, we can't do that."We have a double header against the most talented team in the League (Sydney). You bring two NBA guys off the bench (Steve Blake and Josh Powell) - they are going at it - and if you don't play four quarters..."While Jameel McKay sat most of the second half against the Breakers on the bench on Thursday, Gleeson said he has no injury concerns.
