The Perth Wildcats will be able to unleash the most daunting front court in the NBL after luring 143kg powerhouse Nathan Jawai to the club.
The Wildcats beat out the Adelaide 36ers to sign Jawai, who recently helped the Boomers secure qualification to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Jawai last played in the NBL eight years ago, when he won the Rookie of the Year award after producing a standout season with Cairns.
Since then, the 209cm giant has featured for NBA outfits Toronto and Minnesota, before playing for European teams Partizan Belgrade (Serbia), UNICS Kazan (Russia), Barcelona (Spain), Galatasaray (Turkey), and MoraBanc Andorra (Spain).
The Wildcats wouldn't have been able to snare Jawai if it wasn't for the shock exit of fringe Boomers guard Hugh Greenwood, who quit the club in order to chase his AFL dream.
Perth still have one remaining spot to fill on their roster, with the six-time champions keen to lure a guard.
Jawai will team up with Matt Knight and Tom Jervis in a monster front court combination for the Wildcats.
The 28-year-old is still working his way back to top form and fitness after suffering a horrific neck injury while playing for Galatasaray in 2013.
That injury led to temporary blindness in one eye.
Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson hopes Jawai's arrival will help the club win this season's title.
"What I love about Nate is his willingness to do whatever the team needs," Gleeson said.
"He's not in there to be selfish. He's very conscious of helping the team out and we love that attitude here at the Wildcats.
"He's a dominant force inside - just his mere presence on a basketball court is an asset."
Perth start their season away to Adelaide on October 10.
