Independent candidate Andrew Wilkie has emerged pleased from his meeting with the prime minister saying Julia Gillard was genuinely interested in supporting his push for national pokie machine reform.
Leaving Treasury Place in Melbourne, Mr Wilkie has told reporters the meeting was good and he specifically raised the prospect of a one dollar bet limit on all pokie machines and a $120 per hour loss limit.
He says it's an important issue for him personally and he expects either Labor or the coalition to commit to some kind of reform.

Mr Wilkie is close to claiming the Tasmanian seat of Denison and is therefore a crucial vote for either major party to form a minority government.
During todays meeting he gave Ms Gillard a list of national reforms and concerns about his own electorate which he also intends to give to Opposition Leader Tony AbbottY when they meet in Canberra on Monday.
