Willie Rioli facing three months out

Willie Rioli has had a long journey to the AFL and he may just have to wait a little longer to make his West Coast debut.

Mature-age West Coast recruit Willie Rioli could be facing up to three months on the AFL sidelines.

The 21-year-old trained for the Eagles on Monday, jogging with the group and kicking goals but will go for hamstring surgery on Tuesday.

Rioli injured his right hamstring last week and was forced to sit out an intraclub match.

The livewire forward had been firming for an early season AFL debut in a rejigged West Coast forward line until the injury.
