Windies struggling in 3rd England Test

The West Indies are 6-153 in their second innings at lunch on day three of the deciding third Test against England at Lord's, an overall lead of just 82 runs.

James Anderson took two early wickets as England made inroads early on Saturday's third day of the deciding third Test against the West Indies at Lord's.

The Windies were 6-153 in their second innings at lunch and had a fragile lead of just 82 runs with four wickets in hand.

Shai Hope, the West Indies' best batsmen of the series, was 60 not out and held much of the tourists' hopes of getting far enough ahead to have a chance at victory. Captain Jason Holder was with him unbeaten on eight.

Anderson, the first Englishman to reach 500 Test wickets on day two, removed Roston Chase (3) and Jermaine Blackwood (5) early on the third day. The Windies added just seven runs to their overnight total for the loss of those two.

Toby Roland-Jones picked up Shane Dowrich for 14 and Hope and Holder were left to try to hold things together with just the bowlers to come after them.

Holder survived a chance right on the stroke of the lunch break when Alastair Cook missed a tough catch at slip off captain Joe Root, who brought himself on to bowl some part-time offspin in an attempt to get a breakthrough.

The three-match series is tied at 1-1, leaving everything to play for at Lord's.
