The West Indies will send injured paceman Shannon Gabriel home after he broke down in their thumping first Test loss to Australia in Hobart.

Gabriel could not bowl in either innings after suffering an ankle injury late on day one.

A replacement will be named in the coming days.

The West Indies must regroup without their fastest bowler after being thrashed by an innings and 212 runs in Hobart within three days.

Australia's Test win on Saturday was their second biggest over the Windies.
