Fire crews are using favourable weather to increase back burning and get on top of a Tasmanian bushfire that's been burning for almost a week.
The public is warned they could see increased smoke from the Runnymede fire, in bush northeast of Hobart due to intensive back burning.
"Efforts will be made this afternoon to remove fuel between our constructed containment lines and the fire whilst we are experiencing more moderate conditions and little wind," Incident Controller Claudio Muench said on Sunday.
Firefighters were challenged on Saturday with gusty conditions.
The fire started on Tuesday and has burnt 2200 hectares of private land, state forest and conservation area, however there is no threat to communities.
