Winx epitomises the fair go, says Morrison

Winx epitomises the story of the fair go, says Prime Minister Scott Morrison, ahead of the champion racehorse's last run next Saturday.

Scott Morrison has slapped his fondest political slogan on Australia's favourite racehorse.

The prime minister says Winx and her team had captured the hearts and minds of all Australians, ahead of the champion mare's last race next Saturday.

"They for me epitomise that 'fair go for those who have a go' and I think that's the story of Winx," Mr Morrison told reporters in Sydney on Sunday.

"I think it's the story of the owners of Winx, and it captures our hearts and imaginations because they've gone out there, they've had a crack, and they've conquered the world, and good for them."

Mr Morrison, who freely admits he is no horse racing tragic, says he believes in the same values.

"That's why I can celebrate along with all other Australians Winx's mighty success and wish her all the best," he said.

Foreign Minister Marise Payne, a diehard racehorse owner and breeder, is eagerly anticipating the mare's final race in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes next weekend.

"When Winx takes to the track next week, I think it will be one of those 'all of Australia stops' moments just to salute this extraordinary girl of the track, she's amazing," Senator Payne said.
