Allonzo Trier was called for goaltending on a layup attempt by Thomas Bryant with 0.4 seconds remaining, giving the Washington Wizards a 101-100 NBA victory over the New York Knicks at The O2 Arena in London.

Bradley Beal scored 26 points and had nine rebounds and Otto Porter Jr had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who outscored the Knicks 24-11 in the fourth quarter.

Emmanuel Mudiay scored 25 points and Luke Kornet finished with 16 points, including 12 in the first quarter, for the Knicks, who lost their fifth consecutive game.

New York were making their third appearance in the NBA's annual London game, while Washington were there for the first time.

Noah Vonleh gave the Knicks the 100-99 edge with a one-handed finish over Bryant with 33.7 seconds remaining.

Kevin Knox tried to run down the clock but his three-point attempt missed the rim and led to a shot-clock violation with 3.3 seconds remaining.

That left Washington with one last opportunity and Trevor Ariza drove the lane before dumping the ball off to Bryant just before the buzzer.

Trier and Mudiay both collapsed on Bryant, who released the ball in time but had his shot swatted away by Trier.

Mudiay's buzzer-beating heave at the other end off the inbounds play was off target.

In Indianapolis, Joel Embiid had 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to their seventh win in nine games, a 120-96 blowout of the Indiana Pacers.

In a match-up of two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, the 76ers improved to 2-1 in the four-game season series.

Jimmy Butler added 27 points, eight assists and five boards, JJ Redick contributed 20 points and five assists and Australian guard Ben Simmons finished with 11 points, eight assists and eight rebounds.

Kemba Walker led a balanced attack with 23 points and the Charlotte Hornets beat the visiting Sacramento Kings with a 114-95 victory while Kyle Kuzma scored 32 points to help the Los Angeles Lakers to a 138-128 overtime win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City.

Without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo for the 12th consecutive game, the Lakers relied on Kuzma and Ivica Zubac off the bench, as well as Lonzo Ball.

Kuzma hit seven 3-pointers, Zubac scored a career-high 26 points while Ball added 18, including five points in overtime as the Lakers outscored Oklahoma City 16-6.

Pascal Siakam made a layup at the final buzzer to enable the Toronto Raptors to pip Phoenix 111-109 and the Denver Nuggets routed the Chicago Bulls 135-105.
