An elderly woman who was hit by a bus in Sydney's west has died in hospital.
The 81-year-old was hit by the bus near Bankstown railway station around 10am Monday.
Witnesses and paramedics worked to save her and she was transported to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
She died a short time later, NSW Police said.
A crime scene was established and the bus driver, a 64-year-old man, was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
