Woman arrested after trying to open plane door mid flight

A woman has been arrested in Melbourne and taken to hospital for assessment after she tried to open the door of a plane that was in the air.

A woman who tried to open the door of a plane while it was in the air has been arrested in Melbourne.

Police say the woman tried to open the door of the plane on an inbound flight and was arrested when it touched down at Avalon Airport about 11pm on Monday.

She was then taken to hospital for assessment.
