Woman arrested for Melb charity tin theft

A woman will face court accused of stealing a pink piggy bank for sick children from the counter of a Melbourne pub.

A woman has been arrested after stealing a charity piggy bank from the counter of a Melbourne pub. (AAP)

A Melbourne woman has been arrested for stealing a pink piggy bank used to raise money for terminally ill children.

The 34-year-old woman leaned over an unattended counter and grabbed the piggy bank before walking out of the pub in Sunbury on Wednesday.

Police arrested the Coburg North woman on Sunday night and she will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 18.
