A woman in her 70s has been attacked by a crocodile in Western Australia's far north.

The woman was attacked at Three Mile Creek near the town of Wyndham in WA's Kimberley region on Wednesday afternoon.

She was treated at the Wyndham District Hospital before being flown to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition, according to a WA Country Health spokesman.

A police spokeswoman has told AAP the woman may have lost her arm in the attack, as well as sustaining an injury to her leg, but WACH could not confirm this.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife confirmed officers had been dispatched from Kununurra to euthanase the crocodile responsible for the attack.
