Woman badly hurt in crash with police cars

A woman is in hospital with serious head, neck and spinal injuries after a crash in Sydney that damaged three police cars.

A woman has been seriously injured after crashing outside a Sydney police station, damaging three patrol cars.

The woman's car crossed onto the wrong side of the road outside Auburn Police Station in the early hours of Thursday, hitting one police car and damaging two others, police said.

The 47-year-old was trapped in her car for almost an hour before being freed and taken to hospital with serious head, neck and spinal injuries.

A blood sample is expected to be taken to test for drugs and alcohol.
