A 22-year-old Queensland woman has faced court accused of delivering a torrent of racist abuse online against human rights activist Mariam Veiszadeh.
Jay-Leighsa Bauman appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court today charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.
She has yet to enter a plea to the charge.
Ms Bauman allegedly sent a barrage of abuse to Ms Veiszadeh, 30, via Facebook calling her a “whore”, a “rag-head” and demanded she return to her own "sand dune country."

Ms Veiszadeh, a Canberra-based lawyer, became the target of online hate campaign last year, after she rallied against a Woolworths supermarket in Cairns selling a singlet with the Australian flag and the slogan, "Love it or leave".
An anti-Islam group, the Australian Defence League, re-posted her comments to their 5,000 followers on Facebook leading to racist taunts and death threats against Ms Veiszadeh.
Ms Bauman is due to reappear in court on March 17.
