A young woman is accused of stealing a car with three children in the back, reaching speeds of 100km/h and doing doughnuts in a Mount Isa street.
The children, aged two, five and eight, were not hurt despite the woman losing control of the car and side-swiping a police vehicle and hitting a tree.
The 19-year-old was arrested at the scene and is facing a string of charges including deprivation of liberty, dangerous driving, unlicensed driving and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
It's alleged the woman was a passenger in the car with the children and stole it when the driver got out to go into a shop on Sunday afternoon.
Police say it's extremely lucky no one was hurt.
"The vehicle has done several burn outs in the street. She's then driven onto the footpath and driven into the side of a police car, causing slight damage," Sergeant Chris McLaughlan told ABC radio.
It's also alleged the woman refused police orders to stop.
She is due to face the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 12.
