Woman killed during NSW police chase

A woman has died after the car she was in crashed into a pole near Dubbo shortly after the driver refused to stop for police.

A woman has died after the car she was in slammed into a pole during a police pursuit in country NSW.

The male driver had refused to pull over when police activated their sirens on the Mitchell Highway at Maryvale, near Dubbo, last night.

Officers later found the car crashed into a pole on the same road. The woman died at the scene and the driver has been taken to Dubbo Hospital.

A critical incident investigation is underway.
