Woman killed in Vic highway crash

A 51-year-old woman has died in a highway crash in Melbourne's south-east.

A woman has died after her car crashed and spun across a highway in Melbourne's south-east.

The 51-year-old was driving on the South Gippsland Highway in Dandenong South when she struck another car about 5.30pm on Sunday.

Her car hit a pole and spun across all northbound lanes of the highway before coming to rest on a grass shoulder.

The Clyde North woman died at the scene, bringing Victoria's road toll to 167 for the year.

Her female passenger was injured and taken to hospital, and the four people in the other car were not hurt.
