Woman killed, three injured in WA crash

One woman has died and three other people travelling in the same car have been seriously injured after they crashed into a truck on a West Australian highway.

A 32-year-old woman has died and three other people have been seriously injured after they became trapped in their car following a crash in Western Australia's south.

A truck towing two trailers was travelling south on South Western Highway in Waroona at about 4pm on Thursday when the driver crossed into the northbound lane and the truck started to jack-knife, resulting in his trailers smashing into the sedan.

The 43-year-old male driver of the sedan and two rear passengers, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman, were seriously injured and rushed to Royal Perth Hospital.

The 45-year-old male driver of the truck was not injured.
