Woman remanded, partner fights for life

A woman accused of stabbing her partner with a knife in a Sydney home has been remanded in custody while the man remains in a critical condition.

A woman accused of stabbing her partner in the heart at a Sydney home has been remanded in custody.

Qian Liu, 34, faced Burwood Local Court on Monday charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, as her partner fights for his life.

Han Lim Chin, 39, remains in a critical condition at St George Hospital following the alleged domestic incident about 11.45pm on Sunday at Narwee in Sydney's southwest.

In court documents, police allege Liu stabbed the 39-year-old with a knife.

The pair have one child, who was not present when the man was allegedly stabbed, police earlier said.

Liu's lawyer Jeff Chan told reporters outside court that his client would fight the charge. "The charges are very serious, but they will be defended," he said.

Liu is expected to apply for bail at Burwood Local Court on Friday.
