A woman has been stabbed in the neck in southwest Sydney.

The 48-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the alleged assault at a Holsworthy property on Saturday morning and was taken to the Liverpool Hospital.

A 30-year-old man, who police believe is known to the woman, was arrested at the scene at about 2.40am and charged with assault with intent to murder.

He was refused bail and was to appear before Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
