Woman stung by dangerous jellyfish in WA

A Broome beach has been closed for 24 hours after a potentially lethal Irukandji jellyfish stung a woman, who was treated in hospital and has been discharged.

A woman has been stung by an Irukandji jellyfish - one of the world's deadliest creatures - in Broome in Western Australia, prompting a beach closure.

Town Beach in Broome was closed for 24 hours just after 10am on Friday.

The woman was treated at the local hospital and has been discharged.
