Woman's body found in remote Qld home

A man has been interviewed after police found a woman's body in a bedroom of a house in far north Queensland.

A homicide investigation is under way after a woman's body was found in a bedroom of a home in a remote part of far north Queensland.

Police have interviewed a 42-year-old man over her death.

Officers found the body of the woman, who was aged in her 40s, after they were called to a home in Jennifer Street in Kowanyama on the western Cape York Peninsula about 3.40am (AEST) on Saturday.

Forensic officers have been flown in to the remote town to investigate.
