Worcester sign Blues winger Nanai

Exciting Blues winger Melani Nanai will leave for English strugglers Worcester at the end of his fifth Super Rugby season.

Blues winger Melani Nanai will end his five-season stint with the Kiwi Super Rugby franchise to join England Premiership club Worcester.

Samoan-born Nanai has scored 16 tries in 49 Blues appearances and is set to raise his half-century against the Sharks in Durban this weekend.

Recently married and with a first child on the way, the 25-year-old has decided the time is right to change the emphasis of his career and will depart at the end of the Super Rugby season.

He will link with lock Michael Fatialofa, a teammate when Auckland won their first NPC title for more than a decade last year.

Worcester director of rugby Alan Solomons said Nanai's elusive attacking game will be invaluable for his club, who languish second-last midway through this season.
