Work on two major infrastructure projects in Adelaide will continue despite a leading construction and engineering company entering voluntary administration.
York Civil is involved with the delay-plagued but almost complete North Terrace tram extension and the $800 million upgrade to parts of the city's South Road corridor.
Transport Minister Stephan Knoll says the work will continue on both projects which are covered by joint-venture arrangements.
"The other partners to that joint venture take up the responsibility and the liability in relation to the delivery of those projects," Mr Knoll said.
"We're hopeful that through that mechanism, we can ensure that these projects continue to go ahead, but also that the workers that are involved in relation to them can also continue."
Administrators Ferrier Hodgson said an urgent assessment of York Civil's financial position and the status of its contracts was underway.
"At this stage the company will continue work on the contracts which are subject to the administrators' review," partner Martin Lewis said in a statement.
Mr Lewis said meetings will be held with key stakeholders, including clients, ahead of a creditors' meeting on August 16.
