WWII propaganda poster model becomes a part of history

An exhibit filled with WW2 posters has attracted a lot of people at Sydney's National Maritime Museum - but there's one woman the museum was surprised to see.

Weslee Wooten D'Audney was a model who posed for a US propaganda poster in 1942 which urged women to become nurses. That poster is the centerpiece of the museum's exhibit which was seen by one of Wesley's friends.

After making contact, the museum brought Weslee over to talk about her experiences as one of the most recognisable faces of the US's war propaganda effort.

"It has now become a piece of history," she said." I think it was an innocence and a purity when America was held in very high regard."
