Xenophon seeks federal party name change

The Australian Electoral Commission is in the final stages of allowing the Nick Xenophon Team to change its party name.

The Nick Xenophon Team has sought official approval for a federal party name change to SA Best.

The Australian Electoral Commission has opened the objection period for the name change, which closes on March 7.

Former senator Nick Xenophon - who is now leading a team in the South Australian state election campaign - said the name change reflected the fact that voters want his party to "fearlessly" look after the interests of SA.
