Xenophon to announce gambling plan

Outspoken gambling reform advocate and South Australian Senator Nick Xenophon will unveil his plan to curb problem gambling on Saturday.

An independent senator looking to gain the balance of power in the next election will push for more checks and balances in the gambling industry.

Senator Nick Xenophon will announce his plan on Saturday to stop problem gambling, which will include changes to poker machine regulation and online gambling.

"We need to have controls where people are losing so much money - in online gambling, can you lose your home without having to leave it," Senator Xenophon told the Seven Network.
