Yancoal to restart Austar mine production

The Austar coal mine in NSW will restart after its owner Yancoal got the goahead from regulators.

Coal miner Yancoal Ltd will restart its Austar coking coal mine in New South Wales after receiving regulatory approval to resume production.

Work at the mine was halted in July following a safety dispute with the NSW Resources Regulator.

Some 205 employees from the mine, who were redeployed during a stand-down period, will now be recalled, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Yancoal is a unit of China's Yanzhou Coal Mining Co Ltd.
