Yemen's children suffer malnutrition

Yemen is the most impoverished country in the Middle East and according to UNICEF has the second highest rate of chronic malnutrition among children in the world.

Malnutrition is usually a result of conflict, high food and fuel prices, drought and poverty.

In Yemen 58 per cent of children are stunted and half a million children under the age of five are wasted, meaning they do not weigh as much as they should for their height. Half of Yemen's wasted children are at risk of dying without intervention.
