Yorkshire have offset the loss of Kane Williamson in the second half of the county season by signing highly-rated Australian batsman Travis Head as his overseas replacement.
Head, who starred in the most recent edition of the Big Bash League for Adelaide Strikers, will move to Headingley on July 18 once New Zealand captain-in-waiting Williamson departs for international duty.
The move sees Head link up with Yorkshire and Adelaide coach Jason Gillespie, with the 22-year-old set to feature in all three formats for the reigning county champions.
Head, who also bowls part-time off-spin, said: "I can't wait to get over to England and play for Yorkshire, the best side in the English game.
"To work alongside Dizzy (Gillespie) is also an added attraction. He was brilliant for the Strikers and I have heard so many positive things about what he is doing with the team at Yorkshire.

"To play across all formats is important to me and playing in English conditions will be a good challenge. I can't wait to get over and make an impact."
The left-hander accrued 299 runs at an average of 42.71 in the BBL, most notably bludgeoning an unbeaten 101 to propel the Strikers to victory over Sydney Sixers on New Year's Eve.
While his form in the Sheffield Shield has been disappointing - he has averaged just 24.76 with the bat this season - Gillespie believes Yorkshire have pulled off a coup.
Gillespie said: "Travis is a great signing for us. He will add something different to the squad with his aggressive batting style and his ability with the ball as a genuine spinner.
"He has a lot of maturity for a young man and his cricket intelligence is improving with every match. He will fit in nicely to our system."
